Hand Crafted Bridge Tables

Top Quality, Excellent Value

Top quality, excellent value is what our hand-crafted tables offer. When selecting your card table there are three main points to consider – the wood, the hinge mechanism, the playing surface.

Our tables are genuine Pelissier tables, using the famous hinge originally patented in France by Pelissier. We make them in our factory; they are the best you can buy. They are the choice of many of Europe’s top bridge clubs as well as national federations. They should not be confused with cheaply-made imports or tables with just a strip of wood tacked around the edge to hold the playing surface.

Each table is hand sanded to produce a perfect finish

Our tables are made by hand  using first-rate beech wood from sustainable French forests. Each table is carefully assembled by hand. The wood is individually inspected for quality, cut, drilled and belt-sanded before being finally hand sanded, finished with a mahogany varnish and buffed to a pleasing sheen. The various models we offer are then assembled with care with the genuine Pelissier hinges attaching the legs, before the felt or baize playing surface is fitted. After a final inspection they are carefully packed ready for despatch.

The legs of the tables, in the same French beech, are attached using the special ‘Pelissier’ hinge which was patented and is unique to our factory. The hinge is regarded as the best for ease of use and excellent stability. It is a strong fitment that is built to last. The hinges are riveted to the legs for extra strength. The sides of the tables are carefully dovetailed and rather than being merely glued together, incorporate a special ‘Hoffman’ dovetailing joint.

We currently offer three models, Club, Premier and Royal, all made in Devon by our craftsmen.

You can order securely with your debit or credit card. Tables will be despatched within 7 days of receiving your order. Should any tables be temporarily out of stock we will inform you immediately.

We despatch your table by courier service directly from our warehouse to your home. There is a delivery charge of £10 per table for most of Great Britain. For Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, the Scottish Highlands and Islands the cost is £20 per table.

The wood surrounding the baize playing surface has been finished with smooth, rounded edges which not only look better, but make the table more comfortable to play on. Like all our Pelissier tables, the Premier incorporates the originally patented hinge on each leg. This is a precision-made hinge which is very durable and makes the table extremely stable.

Pelissier Club Table

Pelissier Club Table

The Club table is our biggest seller. Now made in our Devon workshop, it is chosen by bridge clubs and individual players throughout Europe because of its exceptional stability and build quality. The legs and frame are made from solid French beech which is stained to a deep mahogany colour using a special woodstain that permits the grain of the natural wood to show through giving a really pleasing effect. It is then varnished to a silk sheen. The four legs fold along the sides of the table using the original patented Pelissier hinge which is simply the best hinge available. Quick and easy to assemble, robust yet simple to fold up.The playing surface consists of a board of  MDF specially-treated to prevent moisture absorption and then covered with a green felt.
The table measures 80cms x 80cms (31 inches) and is approximately 68cms (27inches) high.  It has a straight-cut wooden edge to the playing surface.
